New TV highlights Smith’s independence versus Merkley’s rigid ideology
The Washington Post editorialized yesterday on behalf of bipartisan leadership, echoing sentiments so often heard from Senator Gordon Smith – no party has a monopoly on good ideas and the best results come from bipartisan efforts. The editorial concludes that losing leaders like Gordon Smith would be a disservice to our country.
In contrast, the Oregonian recently noted that Jeff Merkley never breaks from his party line and his the National Democrats funding his campaign are “more interested in getting their 60 votes than they are in the welfare of the citizens of Oregon.” [10/19]
A new TV ad released by Friends of Gordon Smith today focuses on the continued need for Gordon Smith’s commonsense, moderate leadership in Washington.
